Florida Vacation: Family-friendly resort accommodation in Captiva Island

Your holiday will start the minute you hit the Sanibel Causeway on Summerlin Road on your way to your luxury accommodations in Captiva Island. From here, it’s like you’ve found yourself in another world – a place that moves slower than you may be accustomed to.

As you drive through Sanibel with only two lanes of traffic (one in each direction) you have time to sit back and really relax, enjoying the vibrant scenery and the laid back beach culture of the area. In this part of Florida, it’s not unusual to see pastel colored cottages and seahorse-shaped mailboxes. Sanibel will charm you!

When you’ve driven to the very end of Sanibel-Captiva Road, you will find yourself in a lush tropical paradise in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. At the South Seas Island Resort. The beaches here are lined with shells, dolphins swim and play in the warm water and tall palms sway in the gentle breeze.

In order to access the resort which makes up the entire northern tip of Captiva Island, you require a room key so the only people on the resort grounds are guests and resort staff. It’s a very safe, secluded place to stay in Florida.

Stay in a beachside villa, a harbourside hotel room, a cottage on the Gulf of Mexico, or a private home or condo. The South Seas offers an extremely wide variety of accomodations so it won’t be difficult to find the one that suits your family best.

From tennis courts and swimming pools to spa treatments and organized children’s activities, you can relax as much or as little as you’d like to at the South Seas. Shop for souvenirs or go on a dolphin cruise! Hit the beach and do some shelling or zoom down a water slide. Rent some water sport equipment, go fishing, play golf or sneak in a workout or two. Nobody gets bored at this resort. There’s even a great Sea School on site!

Because the resort is spread out over an area of 2.5 miles, it’s recommended that you park your car and  rent a golf cart or a bicycle to get around! There’s also a trolley that provides public transit across the resort.
