Take a sea plane from Miami to Bimini
Take a seaplane to the Bahamas on your Florida vacation
If you want to live like the rich and famous in Miami, catch a seaplane ride to Bimini in the Bahamas. Now that flights are offered on a per-seat basis, anyone can take a flight rather than booking an entire seaplane which is more costly. Tropic Ocean Airways announced today that it is adding a four-day regular service from the Miami Seaplane Base and North Bimini, similar to the flights from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamian island that it started back in March.
What you get
The seaplane flights from Ft. Lauderdale, stop in Miami and then proceed to North Bimini. The flight is only 30 minutes and gives passengers a scenic view. The best part is that it saves travel time on a taxi or ferry from the South Bimini airport by landing directly on North Bimini.
You can catch a one-way flights on the following days:
The cost is $180 one-way between the two markets. If you’re a Bimini Bay homeowner, discount fares will be in place soon (you can also purchase a discounted package via Bimini Watersports or the Bimini Big Game Club.)
What to do when you arrive? If you don’t keep a boat or have a luxury home like many Miami residents, you can swim in the clear waters, go fishing as Ernest Hemingway did. If you want something more exciting, try paddleboarding or kiteboarding, diving a shipwreck or feeding sharks.
