We’re keeping our eyes open for celebrities in Florida and this week was a busy one:
RIP Donna Summer
Five-time Grammy Award winner, Donna Summer, passed away in Key West, on May 17th after a battle with lung cancer. The 63-year old, ‘Queen of Disco’, will be remembered for her blockbuster songs and ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘She Works Hard For The Money’.
Lance Armstrong, is no stranger to winning as the seven-time winner of the Tour de France and a few minutes after he hopped on his bike, he had a strong enough lead to secure the 2012 Ironman 70.3 win. Those who bared the hot day in Haines City saw him race to win with a time of 3:45:38.
Micky Dolenz, formerly of The Monkees, played around with Mickey Mouse at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival before playing during the final weekend of the the “Flower Power Concerts Series.” The show was partly as a tribute to his friend and bandmate, Davy Jones, who died this year and had been a favorite among the lineup for the “Flower Power Concert Series”.
There’s a lineup of stars taking the stage at Seminole Hardrock Live throughout May and June. This weekend it was Melissa Etheridge, and upcoming are Kathy Griffin, ZZ Top and Il Divo. Snag your tickets online at ticketmaster.
Ashley Eckstein, was signing autographs at Disney’s Star Wars Weekends. Among wookies and jedis, celebrities spotted were Dee Bradley Baker, Ray Park and Jerome Blake, all names behind the character voices. There are a number of celebrities slated to attend the next few weeks, so check the lineup.
