Florida Vacation Guide: Consider Casa Grandview when deciding where to stay in West Palm Beach

It’s difficult to put this property into words. Casa Grandview is a type of accommodation that’s completely in a class of its own. It’s essentially a cottage resort, but once you’re there, it seems like more than that. It really is more like a home away from home than anything else. And chances are, once you get there, you won’t want to leave.

The owners of the property, Cheryl and Kent Grantham, should be commended for taking such care to revitalize this part of West Palm Beach. Over the years the couple has purchased several homes surrounding their own property, transforming them from a state of neglect and disrepair into the most cheerful summer cottages you have ever seen, all while maintaining their historic integrity.

The property is anchored by an award-winning AAA 4-Diamond Historic Inn and B&B where, by the way, Cheryl’s breakfasts will rival any restaurant’s offering! That’s where you’ll check in – in the Inn.

“May all who enter as guests leave as friends.”

You may or may not be greeted by a King Charles Spaniel when you arrive, but you’ll definitely feel you’ve entered a haven of peace and relaxation. The dark wood, opulent furnishings and soft music all help to set the mood. A sign saying, “May all who enter as guests, leave as friends” sums up the way you’ll be treated when you stay at this charming property which has captured the essence of classic Florida in terms of service and style, without sacrificing a single modern amenity.

Choose from seventeen unique accommodations at Casa Grandview – from a cozy room in the Inn (where you’ll be pampered a bit more than at a self-serve cottage) to a two-bedroom sherbet-colored cottage. There are also some absolutely sweet Art Deco Cabana Suites – each one expertly decorated, like something from a magazine. Single travelers and couples will be quite comfortable staying at the Inn while larger families will be able to stretch their legs more in a cottage or suite. The cottages and Art Deco properties are also well-suited for extended stays. If there’s any doubt as to which accomodation to choose, simply call the Inn and you’ll be talked through your options to help you decide, depending on your needs.

All accommodations are air-conditioned and almost all of the cottages and bungalows have fully self-catering kitchens so you can prepare a gourmet dinner for your family if you’d rather not eat all of your meals at restaurants. The kitchens are stocked with common spices, coffee, dishes, utensils, cookware and just about everything else you could need to get a meal on the table. There are also grilling areas if you prefer your vacation food to have grill marks!

Cheryl and Kent really have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you’re traveling with a baby, you’ll be happy to know that high chairs, Diaper Genies and Pack ‘n Play are all available at no additional charge. Bicycles are also free to use for a day exploring the area. If you’re heading to the beach, grab some sand toys for the kids!

Of course, you don’t have to go to the beach to cool off, even though it’s only moments away. There are two very welcoming pools on the property, tucked away in the palms making it feel like a private tropical oasis.

Not into pools? Then park yourself on a chaise and read a book on the lanai in the shade of an umbrella. Casa Grandview is located moments away from shopping, restaurants, museums and parks so go ahead and explore!

When it’s time to turn in for the night, draw yourself a bath and wash the day off with designer bath products by Gilchrist & Soames before resting your head on a luxurious mattress and sinking into the sumptuous linens. Or there’s large selection of DVDs to choose from, should you wish to relax in front of the flatscreen Television for the evening.
