Visit Disney World’s Great White North
Disney Vacation Guide to Epcot’s Canada Pavilion
Take a visit to Canada while you’re visiting Disney World. Okay, so Epcot isn’t actually Canada but a visit to this World Showcase will allow you to experience some of the atmosphere and character you would expect to find above the border!
The grounds of the Pavilion do quite an excellent job of capturing the Canadian landscape. The great Canadian Rocky Mountains are represented along with a 30-foot waterfall, intricately-carved totem poles and peaceful gardens full of photo ops. The focal point of the Pavilion, however, is a grand building with a mansard roof designed to resemble Chateau Laurier, a famous hotel in Canada’s capital city of Ottawa.
Do
- Take the time to see O Canada!. Presented in CircleVision 360, this movie (narrated by native Canuck Martin Short) will take you on a journey through the Canadian countryside from city skylines to seashores while telling the nation’s story.
- Check out Off Kilter. This bagpipe-playing, kilt-clad Celtic rock music band will entertain you with traditional and original songs and some good clean Canadian humor.
Dine
Step into the romantic Le Cellier Steakhouse with its subdued lighting and warm atmosphere. Oh, and who could forget to mention the amazing cuisine? One of Disney’s best steaks is served at this eatery. If you don’t feel like sitting down for a meal, grab an ice cold Molson at the outdoor kiosk. Refreshing, eh?
Shop
Pick up a beautiful piece of folk art, pewter or other handmade Canadian product at The Northwest Mercantile, one of the Pavilion’s shops.
