Travel Tip: Preparing for your Florida vacation
Florida Vacation Guide: Before you go on vacation
If you’re getting ready to embark on a Florida vacation with your family, as the big travel day approaches, things can start to get pretty hectic.
Here are a few things to keep in mind as you prepare to go on your Florida vacation:
Print off identification to put inside your luggage
There is always a chance that your checked luggage won’t show up at your destination at the same time as you. In the event that such a thing should happen, to make sure your bags find their way to you, here’s an idea for you. Just in case your identification tags get separated from your bags, it’s a great idea to put some ID inside your luggage. This is as simple as a sheet of paper put on top of the contents of your suitcase that states your basic contact information as well as the address and phone number (and duration of stay) for where you will be when you get off the plane.
Pack some plastic cases for beach treasures
If you and your little ones discover lots of treasures on the beaches of Florida, you don’t want to risk having them crushed under the weight of your clothes and other contents of your luggage. Bring some plastic containers along with you so you’ll have something to pack all of those beach treasures in for your travels back home. Another great reason to do this is that you’ve automatically set a limit to the amount of seashells that can come home with you! It’s easy to get carried away.
Make sure you have all the prescriptions you’ll need
If you or one of your children requires prescription medication, be sure that you have enough to last you for your travels. One easy thing to forget about is your oral contraceptive. If you’re scheduled to finish a pack while you’re on vacation, you might want to have an extra package with you! Keep your medications in your carry-on luggage.
