Once upon a time, Suzanne Collins wrote a trilogy of YA fiction called “The Hunger Games.” The story is set in a dystopian society, in a country known as Panem. A televised event there features one randomly selected boy and girl between the ages of 12 and 18 (from each of 12 districts of the country) who are forced to fight to the death until only one remains standing.
The cast of the movie includes: Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence, Alexander Ludwig and Amandla Steinberg.
“The Hunger Games” is in theaters today
It’s all many have been talking about for weeks – “The Hunger Games” coming to theaters. And today’s the happy day!
Many people simply couldn’t wait. Hundreds of movie fans in Southwest Florida packed the theaters at Regal Cinemas in Gulf Coast Town Center early this morning for the movie’s release. Many were even dressing the part!
According to initial reports, the movie is a hit among fans of the books. Of course, you’re going to want to head to the theaters and see for yourself! We recommend catching “The Hunger Games” at an IMAX theater in Florida.
