Tampa Bay’s Top Chefs square off to benefit charity
Florida Vacation Guide: Top Chef of the Year Tampa Bay
Executive Chef Richard Preston of SHOR American Seafood Grill in the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach will participate with other prominent area chefs in Top Chef of the Year Tampa Bay 2012 on March 26 at 6pm in a sold out event at the A La Carte Pavilion. Proceeds of this “culinary adventure” and live auction will benefit the Child Abuse Council of Tampa Bay.
Who will win the title?
Up to 25 prominent Tampa Bay chefs will participate in this culinary adventure, based upon the popularity of the famous Top Chef television show. Each chef will design his or her own menu, preparing a five-course meal (with accompanying wine) for a table of twelve.
Chefs receive points to try to claim the title of “Top Chef of the Year Tampa Bay.” They’ll also be competing for “Top Philanthropic Chef of the Year,” a title which will be given to the chef who has raised the most amount of money in sponsorships and donations. “Best Table Decor” is another prize up for grabs.
Meet one of the contenders
SHOR American Seafood Grill is held in high esteem thanks to its creative cuisine and use of fresh, sustainable, organic and/or locally sourced ingredients. One of SHOR’s most popular dishes is the delectable Lobster Ravioli. The recipe is requested by (and given to) many guests.
SHOR has donated an exclusive getaway package for the event’s live auction which includes a two-night stay in a one-bedroom suite at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa with breakfast for two. That’s a $1,600 value.
