Relax in luxury on the ocean at The Atlantic Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale
Florida Vacation Guide: Relax in luxury at the posh Atlantic Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale
The day’s stresses start to melt off of you as you make your way along Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard on the lookout for 601 – home of The Atlantic Resort and Spa. The busy oceanside street is lined with beach goers and their children, health-concious runners and joggers, seniors out for a stroll and locals just going to and from work. It’s a circus of color and noise and life.
You’re in a different frame of mind when you pull up to the front doors of The Atlantic than you were when you started on your journey thanks to the resort-like feel of this part of the city. With the emerald green waters of the south Atlantic beckoning you from your car, you happily hand the Valet your keys and make your way past the inviting seating area outside the hotel to the front desk where you’re greeted by smiles.
If you need help with anything the concierge is right there with a suggestion, driving directions, or some general advice – whatever it is you need.
The Atlantic Resort & Spa is home, obviously, to a spa. The 10,000-square foot Spa Atlantic offers massage, tanning, aromatherapy, body scrubs, facials, manicures and pedicures and most other treatments you’d expect to find at a hotel spa. There’s a French Bistro-inspired restaurant onsite as well, The East End Brasserie, which we’ll explore in greater detail a bit later. The hotel provides valet parking, complimentary wireless Internet, business center, outdoor heated pool, fitness center and 24/7 concierge.
Of course, with the hotel being so close to the waves of the Atlantic, you may wish to do nothing more than sit on the sand and soak it all in.
There are a couple different types of rooms to choose from: Guest Rooms, Suites and Penthouse Suites. Rooms range in size from 600-square feet to over 3,000-square feet. No matter what type of room you book, you’ll have a patio or terrace to enjoy. Rooms also feature fully-equipped kitchenettes while luxury suites and penthouses offer a full kitchen where you can cook anything you wish. Enjoy 24-hour room service and twice daily housekeeping service.
On the ground level of the hotel is the new traditional French bistro, East End Brasserie. The service is excellent and the menu offers a wide variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The servers are happy to make their own recommendations if you’re having trouble deciding from all of the options presented to you! The continental breakfast offers plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and pastries to get your day started while hot options are available on the regular menu.
You may also opt to dine at the Ocean Terrace on the 5th floor. Enjoy a light snack and a cocktail where the view simply can’t be beat.
