Florida Vacation Guide to July 4th events in Fort Myers & Sanibel

You’re in the Fort Myers Beach or Sanibel area of Southern Florida and here it is, the July 4th holiday. Wondering what kind of events are taking place? Here are three we’ve heard about that we thought you’ll be interested in!

1. Red, White and Boom

Each year, more than 50,000 people head to The Cape Coral Bridge and Cape Coral Parkway between the bridge and Del Prado Boulevard when it shuts down for a huge July 4th party. It starts at 4pm with a street party where there are four bands playing on two stages. Kids head to the carnival and adults can fill their bellies and whet their appetites by visiting the beer and food vendors. The fireworks start at dusk.

2. Family Fun and Fireworks at the Dunes Golf & Tennis Club

From 6-9pm at the Dunes Golf & Tennis Club on July 4, enjoy rides, musical entertainment, raffles and an old fashioned picnic complete with grilled hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, coleslaw, potato salad and more. After the feasting and the fun, there will be fireworks.

3. Downtown Fort Myers Freedom Fest

Freedom Fest is taking place on July 4th. It’s free and it ends in a spectacular fireworks display. The block party starts at 6pm followed by the fireworks at 9:30pm. It is free but preferred seating is available for $5, and you have to bring your own chair. 5 stages of live music by Chrystian, No Way Jose and Superbot will provide great entertainment throughout the evening.
