Since Green schools are the theme for this year’s Earth Day theme in Florida, the following events are happening, well into May:
Earth Day at Oak Hill Elementary
On April 27th, from 9 am till 2 pm, students are encouraged to recycle with the lure of a tote bag at this Jacksonville school if they collect over 20 plastic bags, and they receive a Florida State Park pass if they donate one old cell phone or two old cell phone chargers.
Earth Day at Westview K-8
Jacksonville Elementary students at Westview are encouraged to recycle bags, old cell phones and their chargers on May 11th from 9 am till 2 pm. There isn’t a prize or reward, but we hope that helping the planet and Florida conversation efforts is enough!
Do you have old cell phones or chargers that you could donate for Earth Day?
