Florida Vacation Guide to the Sarasota Film Festival
If you fancy yourself a movie buff, you’ll want to steer yourself towards the Sarasota Film Festival between April 13 and 20.
This year a record number of films (over 230) from 30 different countries will be featured during the Sarasota Film Festival, one of the largest regional film festivals in the United States.
About the films and the celebrities presenting them
More than a dozen of the Festival’s films are US or World Premiers. It all gets underway on April 13 with “Robot & Frank” on Opening Night which will be attended by Jake Schreier. Todd Solondz will attend the festival to present his film “Dark Horse,” the Festival’s Centerpiece film while Joe Berlingerʼs “Under African Skies” will act as the Festival’s Closing film.
Documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy will be at the festival to present her new film “Ethel,” which is a film about the life of her mother, Ethel Kennedy.
Dominic Monaghan and Ashley Bell will be on hand to present horror thriller, “The Day.”
Sarasota Film Festival Details
Th 2012 Sarasota Film Festival will be presented at The SCF Need Performing Arts Hall, Sarasotaʼs Regal Hollywood 20 Cinemas, and The Sarasota Opera House. Opening Night be held at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
