Ring in the New Year with the following countdown celebrations:

Downtown Countdown, Fort Myers

Head to downtown Fort Myers from 6 p.m. till 2 a.m. for the following fun entertainment held in the River district between Edwards Drive and Main Street: DJ Tower spinning music, Florida’s longest Conga line, food and craft beer garden, the Kids Zone, and a Big Ball drop and fireworks at midnight.

  • Cost: Free. Preferred viewing tickets are $10 to $15 and VIP tickets start at $99/person that includes special access, food and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets and details are available at .

Beach Ball Drop, Panama City Beach

The NYE Beach Ball Drop takes place in Pier Park with an early beach ball drop for children at 8 p.m. Thousands of inflatable beach balls tumble onto the crowd for a big finale. At midnight, a lit 800 lb beach ball is lowered more than 100 feet for the countdown along with a   fireworks show over the Gulf of Mexico.

Hollywood Studios, Disney World, Orlando

Hollywood Studios has lots of glitz and light shows for the New Year! Head to Hollywood Studio’s central meeting spot at Mickey’s sorcerer hat where Rock and roll with Mulch, Sweat, and Shears! perform for the New Year’s Eve bash. There are four concert sets but make sure you catch the live fireworks show when they ring in 2013. To get yourself warmed up for the festivity, catch one of three Fantasmic! shows at 6:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. And don’t forget to let the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights add some dazzle into the evening.
