Florida Travel Guide to Romance on a Budget
Celebrating Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean breaking the bank! Romance is more than the biggest bouquet or the most elaborate meal – cook dinner at home, pack a picnic, take a romantic walk and enjoy your time together. We’ve got a few ideas to just get you started, all for under $20! Watch a movie under the stars, indulge in a wide array of delicious desserts or spread a blanket and listen to an outdoor concert by Biscayne Bay…your Valentine’s evening will be memorable with any of these:
Sweeten Love
Romantic bliss can be in one simple bite. Skip the extravagant menus and end the evening with a sweet touch at the Ritz Carlton South Beach. For $14/couple from 8-11 p.m., you can surround yourself with the luxurious setting and sweet decadence of the “Sweets for your Sweet” display. The names of the bite-size desserts alone will make your mouth water: Red Velvet Torte, Mini-chocolate Cheesecake and Pistachio Mocha Bites. All are created by Executive Pastry Chef Jason Morale for an evening of indulgence.
Movie under the Stars
Moonlight & Music
Each year, the Deering Estate at Cutler holds a Valentine’s Day outdoor concert under the stars. Set on the edge of Biscayne Bay, the setting is romantic enough, as are the sultry vocals of Sarah Packiam. Food is available at a cost, but you can pack a picnic (no coolers allowed), spread a blanket out on the lawn and stare into your loved one’s eyes. The concert starts at 8:00 pm and tickets are $20. If you decide to go, make sure you purchase tickets online ahead of time (non-refundable, rain or shine.
