Travel Tip: What to pack in kids’ carry-on bags
Florida Travel Guide to what to pack in your kids’ carry-on
If you’re going to be flying to Florida with kids for your vacation getaway, you should put some thought into what you’ll pack in their carry-on bags to help make your flight as enjoyable as possible.
Here we share some of our own best advice with you.
New coloring books. You want to make your flight as interesting as possible if you’ll be traveling with young kids. Nothing is as much fun for kids as something new! Don’t bother packing up their old coloring books and crayons for them. Buy some new ones for the trip.
Delicious snacks. You’re traveling and you’re going to have to break some rules. Make the plane ride an event! Pack snacks your kids love: crackers and cheese, granola bars, yogurt-covered pretzels, Teddy Grahams, dry cereal, M&Ms, and keep everyone as happy as you can for as long as you can. Don’t forget to throw some lollipops and/or gum, depending on your kids’ ages, into their bags or your own to help their little ears make the flight comfortably.
Extra clothes. Things happen. Put an extra set of clothes in your kids’ backpacks, just in case. You don’t want to listen to a three-year-old howling from coast to coast because she spilled milk on her shirt!
Baby wipes. If we were stranded on a desert island, we would not want to be without these handy dandy items. For everything from wiping down everyone’s hands and faces to cleaning surfaces they get their sticky little hands on!
Bonus tip: Buy a special new book or toy and pack it in your own carry-on to bring out in case of an exhaustion-induced tantrum or in other similar emergency.
