If you’re traveling in Florida this year, you’re in luck – St. Patrick’s Day 2012 is on a Saturday, which will bring out more St. Paddy’s Day revelers, green-clad students, pixies and leprechauns traveling than usual. It’s time to eat, drink, and be merry just like the Irish, from shots of Irish whiskeys to pints of Guinness, well everything Guinness: Guinness-braised beef, Guinness Beef Stew, Guinness burgers – you get the idea! If you’re looking for the best Irish pubs in Florida to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, add these to your pub crawl list:
St. Patrick’s Day Bar Stroll, Key West
For 34 years now, Key West is in the St. Paddy’s Day spirit with their St. Patrick’s Day Bar Stroll. McGuire’s Irish Pub, Pensacola, FL
This pub is truly Irish, from its own pipe band to its own brews! McGuire’s ales, porters and stouts, including Wild Irish Raspberry Wheat, are brewed on the premises. Ask for a tour – they’ll even give you some of their very own house yeast to try on your homebrew. Located in a 1927 Old Firehouse, the 20,000 square foot space is open for merriment. From the Pipers Den, Irish Links or Notre Dame Room, each theme-oriented room has a unique touch. Note that the one dollar bills dangling from the pub’s ceilings are valued at more than half a million dollars.
