Special Mother’s Day outings in Florida for all kinds of Moms
Florida Travel Guide: Unique ways to celebrate Mom
Not all moms will be tickled to go to the same old place for the same old lunch she gets taken to for Mother’s Day every year. Give her a lovely surprise by taking her out for a special outing on Sunday, based on things she likes to do.
For moms who love the water
Take Mom on a lunchtime cruise on May 13. Sunquest Cruises in Destin offers a special lunch on the water. The first course will be a fresh salad which will be followed by an entree of fish, sautéed gulf shrimp, free range chicken or beef tenderloin. (Special menu for children aged 3-10) Dessert will be a sweet surprise.
The ship will board from 11:15am-11:55am with the cruise happening 12pm-2pm.
Cost for the cruise and lunch: $55/adults, $25/children aged 3-10, $15/infants aged 0-2
For moms who love golf
Sure if the kids are older, Mom can take them with her for a round of golf on Mother’s Day. But if a day on the links would be too much for the little ones to handle, take Mom to Putt’n Around Delray Beach for a morning of miniature golf in a beautiful botanical garden instead. Moms golf for free all day! Takes place 10am-10pm.
Cost: $9.85/18 holes, $15/36 holes, FREE/moms
For moms who love luxury (and desserts)
A decadent champagne brunch at the luxe Rosen Shingle Creek will make Mom weak in the knees. The menu features more than 44 items from seafood and dim sum to pasta and waffles and everything in between. The dessert menu is longer than most we’ve seen with items such as creme brûlée, pie, flan, red velvet cake, tortes, cookies, bread pudding, cheesecake and so much more. So much dessert!
Brunch takes place Sunday, May 13 from 11:30am-7pm.
Cost for brunch: $55/adult, $24.95/children aged 4-12, FREE/children under 3
