Rock 2 Live Festival postponed until Fall 2012
Florida Travel Guide: Rock 2 Live Festival postponed to address demand
Anyone who’s been looking forward to the Rock 2 Live Festival scheduled to take place April 28 is going to be quite disappointed. That’s because this event, intended to raise awareness of the dangers of texting while driving, has been postponed until the fall of this year (date has not yet been released).
Why the decision to postpone?
Because the goal of the Rock 2 Live Festival is to raise awareness of the dangers of texting while driving among schools all over the United States, when organizers were told by many schools that they wouldn’t’ have enough time to participate in the fundraising and streaming event, the decision was made to postpone.
This will give all schools that wish to participate the opportunity to do so, considering the goal is to have as many schools participate as possible.
Date to be announced later
Event producers, Global Maximus Production (GMP) say a date will be set soon and that it will be an incredible concert experience which will also contribute to a socially relevant cause.
Chairman of GMP, Randall James, states, “We had a late hour landslide of support. Sponsors, schools, fundraisers, celebrities, and the media were all on board to endorse and support the responsible texting message. Unfortunately, the impending concert date precluded many from being able to lend their full backing and adopt the program.”
Because of that, the decision was made to postpone the event.
The A-List line up of musical acts who were scheduled to appear at the Rock 2 Live event plan to continue to support the cause of responsible texting and driving. Tickets purchased for the April 28 event will be honored for the rescheduled date.
Are you disappointed, or do you agree with the organizers’ decision to reschedule?
