Join the fight against hunger in South Florida on July 4th
Florida Travel Guide to the July 4th Family Celebration at Gulfstream Park
In conjunction with its July 4th family celebration, Gulfstream Park Racing Casino in Hallandale Beach will hold a food drive to benefit Feeding South Florida.
Join the fight against hunger while you celebrate America’s birth.
Gulfstream Park July 4th Family Celebration
It starts at 4pm and there will be live music, food, a Kidz Zone, fun and fireworks. Bring along a non-perishable food item with you and join the fight against hunger. Peanut butter, cereal, tuna, rice, macaroni and cheese, protein foods, etc. would be perfect items to bring – please don’t take anything in a glass container.
When you bring along a food item, not only will you be helping the organization of Feeding South Florida to stock the shelves for 600 partner agencies like The Pantry of Broward, but you’ll also be eligible to win a $500 prize that will be drawn for after the 9:00pm fireworks.
For many of us, a jar of peanut butter is a basic staple of our homes, but for the 938,110 individuals in South Florida who don’t know where their next meal might come from (340,740 of those souls are children), your generosity means a great deal.
Feeding South Florida
With the help of almost 600 other not-for-profit organizations, Feeding South Florida strives to serve individuals who are food insecure, the elderly, the mentally and physically challenged, veterans and the working poor, in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties. Feeding South Florida does this with compassion and integrity. In 2011, Feeding South Florida distributed over 30 million pounds of food valued at almost $50 million within the South Florida community.
