Florida Travel Guide: Free and cheap things to for Mother’s Day in Northern Florida

If you’re looking for some great ways to spend Mother’s Day this year without spending a fortune, head to the Northern part of the state where there’s a variety of fun free and/or cheap activities to do with Mom on May 13.

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

Moms get into the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens free with a special coupon which will be made available on the zoo’s website. While you’re there, treat Mom to a lovely Mother’s Day brunch (between 10am and noon) which is quite affordable at $24.95 for members ($28.95 for non-members) and $9.95 for children who are members ($12.95 for non-members). Make your reservations before May 4!

Concert in the Park

Enjoy a free musical event in Amelia Park Concert Pavilion with Mom on Sunday, May 13 at 4pm. A string quartet will put on a concert playing popular favorites and light classics. Philip Pan and Aurica Duca play the violin, Clinton Dewing plays the viola and Christopher Rex plays the cello. There is no ticket required for this great free Northern Florida event.

MOCA Family Free Day

On Mother’s Day between 12pm and 4pm explore the Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville with your family. For free! That’s right. Families get in for free on Sundays. And on Mother’s Day you can also treat Mom to a special brunch with free mimosas! It takes place from 11am to 3pm and costs $25 for adults and $8 for children under 10.
