One Republic, FloRida, BadHorse and Surface Rising are among the rock stars sending a message out to teens regarding responsible texting. The Rock2Live Music Festival organized by the strong student body at Boca Raton’s Spanish River High School. It’s not the first time artists have supported their cause – Justin Bieber took part in a PSA with PhoneGuard concerning texting while driving – see the video below.

Rock 2 Live Music Festival

Mark April 28th on your calendar for the Rock 2 Live Music Festival. It will be held in the state-of-the-art brand new stadium at Florida Atlantic University. The stadium seats 30,000, so make sure you grab your tickets soon – they are on sale as of  Thursday, April 5, 2012.

The Artists

A-List talent, from Grammy nominated stars to alternative bands are joining forces to send a message about responsible driving. More stars are joining the lineup but so far the following have been announced:

  • One Republic
  • Flo Rida
  • BadHorse
  • Surface Rising
  • Jessica Dawn

It’s not the first time Florida native and rapper, Flo Rida has contributed to a cause. Back on February 12, 2012, he headlined the free post-race concert for the Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Pete Half Marathon Post Race Concert. Who knows, maybe Justin Bieber will make an appearance!

Spanish River Students

Boca Raton students at Spanish River High School students are continuing to take a stand when it comes to texting while driving. Their latest initiative is Rock2Live but the students have been on a mission since September 2011 to create a National Awareness Day against Texting and Driving, supported by celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Andy Pilgrim and now the A-list stars for this music festival. Check out their site and take the pledge.

Online Streaming Event

To send the message about responsible texting to millions, the concert will be “live” streamed in HD. If you can’t make it to the concert, you can buy an “E-Ticket” from Ticketmaster and watch it on your smartphone, computer or tablet. The live streaming HD interface to make this an interactive event, is being pioneered by Gotham Media Services.
