1. Key Largo Original Music Festival

Multiple melodic happenings are to set the stage for music lovers during the 4th annual festival, featuring live and original performances. You’ll hear everything from jazz to blues and rock to country on multiple stages in Key Largo. Singers and bands, from Nashville’s Melody Guy to Jamie Morgan and the Saints of Havana trio to Aaron Shea take to the stage throughout the four-day event. The festival starts and wraps up at Snapper’s Waterfront Restaurant (139 Seaside Ave./Mile Marker 94.5).

  • Where: multiple bay front stages at Sundowners Restaurant, Cactus Jack’s and Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill in Key Largo.

2. International Museum Day at Boca Raton Museum of Art

Get an indepth look at the museum for free. There’s a creation station for children on May 19 at 11 am that lets children have a hand at artistic creation from sculpture to collage (the activities change each month) From the permanent collection to glass art, Misako Inaoka and Will Barnet Printmaking, there’s a variety of exhibits for the whole family to enjoy.

3. Downtown Tarpon Festival

After a 5-year hiatus, the World’s Richest Tarpon Tournament returns to Boca Grande, along with a festival for those not participating. There will be presentations by the Mote Marine Mobile Aquarium, games for children, fishing talks and music, featuring Colton James at 8pm on Saturday.

  • Highlight: Everything tarpon!
  • When: May 19-20, 10 am – 5 pm
  • Where: Park Avenue, between 5th and 3rd St., Boca Grande.
