If you’re traveling in Florida between May 11 and 18th you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a good time if you let fun be your guide!

1. Windsor Zucchini Festival

Sample fried zucchini, zucchini bread and zucchini muffins. Don’t miss the ugliest zucchini contest and find out who’s crowned the Zucchqueen! Enjoy live entertainment, children’s activities, arts and crafts and more! It’s a squashing good time and it’s all in aid of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department.

2. Asian Cultural Festival

If Mom’s a big fan of Asian culture (or any kind of culture) then plan to take her to the Asian Cultural Festival on the evening of May 12. Sit side by side in lawn chairs and and enjoy Asian food, arts and crafts and all sorts of cultural entertainment from Asian countries including China, Japan, India, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and more!

3. Mayfaire-by-the-Lake

What started out modestly as a regular old crafts fair on the lawn of the Lakeland Public Library has grown into one of Florida’s most beloved outdoor art festivals and a most popular Mother’s Day weekend event. On Saturday evening from 5pm-11pm enjoy a lawn party with the Mayfaire Classic 5K race and fireworks!

  • Highlight: Fun outdoor fun to celebrate Mom
  • When: May 12-13: 9am-4pm
