Celebrate the anniversary of the end of the Civil War, see Scott McCreery live in concert or spend some time at the library while you travel through Florida. The best part is, these events are all free.

1. City of Daytona Beach’s 12th Annual Juneteenth Family Festival

Celebrate the celebration of the day (June 19, 1865) Union soldiers announced the end of the Civil War. On Saturday head to the City of Daytona Beach’s annual Juneteenth Family Festival and enjoy a meaningful day of culture with the entire family. Don’t miss the Sankofa African American Museum on Wheels with its detailed display of over 500 artifacts from the era of King Cotton. Enjoy live entertainment, a deliciously fun pound cake contest, arts and crafts and a 25′ rock climbing wall! Kids will love the pony rides, choo choo rides and petting zoo. It’s all about culture, education and fun!

2. Scotty McCreery live in concert

The winner of last year’s American Idol competition will be putting on a free show in Florida for all of his fans newt week. 18-year-old Scotty McCreery, will bring his signature deep voice with a country twang to the Dallas Bull on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

3. Story Time at the Amelia Island Museum

If you’re looking for a fun activity to bring the kids to in northern Florida on Saturday, head to the Amelia Island Museum of History for Story Time! The story will be best suited for a 5 to 8 year old child, but all are welcome!
