1) Third Annual Scrub Jay Festival

The Florida Scrub Jay is a threatened little bird that’s only found here in the sunshine state. Come and learn about the bird and how to protect its habitat. Take in some presentations, enjoy guided hikes, live music and food. Participate in a round table with Florida Scrub Jay experts.

2) Budweiser Smoke on the Water BBQ Competition

Check out the 2012 Florida BBQ Association State Championship (yes, Florida has a BBQ Association) where more than 80 teams from across the United States will be in “hot” competition for the title of Florida State Grand Champion. Beyond BBQ, enjoy a water sports ski show, musical entertainment and more. Funds raised will go towards the Citrus Center Boys & Girls Clubs of Winter Haven, Haines City and Lake Wales.

3) Everglade Seafood Festival

Visit a fun, old-fashioned fair where delicacies from the sea are served up fresh for your eating pleasure! Play carnival games, take in some live music and eat delicious food!

4) 11th Annual Hobe Sound Festival of the Arts

4 blocks of the A1A/Dixie Highway are transformed into a living art gallery for two entire days. See unique jewels, fine photography, ceramics, paintings, sculpture and more.

5) Poetry in the Park

Bring along a cushion to make yourself comfortable and plan to spend a delightful afternoon in the out of doors while being treated to poetry. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
