What To Do In Florida: Watch the Jacksonville Sea & Sky Spectacular
Florida News: US Navy Blue Angels come to Jacksonville Beach
On Saturday and Sunday, October 20&21, the sky above Jacksonville Beach be the focal point in the area. That’s because the Jacksonville Sea & Sky Spectacular will be going on and the beaches are likely to be packed with roughly 100,000 people looking up!
See an F-18 Super Hornet zoom through the air. Watch an F-22 Raptor and an F4U Corsair cut through the clouds! Headliners for the event will be The U.S. Navy Blue Angels, scheduled to fly on Saturday and Sunday at 3pm. These planes can reach speeds of 1,400 mph, but during the show they’ll probably get up to speeds of 700 mph.
Other performances will be given by a slew of aerobatic pilots, the U.S. Special Operations Command Parachute Team, the Red Eagles, the Horsemen Flight Team, the Black Diamonds jet team, and a U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue team.
Where to watch
For the best view, head to the beachfront and First Street (between Beach Boulevard and Fifth Avenue North) and get as close as you can to the “Show Center.” But you’ll be able to view the show from anywhere on Jacksonville Beach.
Throughout the weekend, visit displays military vehicles and aircraft at the street festival. You’ll also have a chance to meet some of the performers.

- Parking: There’s not a lot of parking available for this show which draws very large crowds. If you can’t find a spot, park at TPC Sawgrass, Florida A1A & Palm Valley Road for $20/car. A shuttle runs from there to the show throughout the day.
