Visit the Caribbean this weekend without leaving Florida! Caribe Arts Fest takes place Downtown Fort Lauderdale at the Riverfront and it will feature the energy, the rhythms, the art, the food and even the fashion of the Caribbean.
The Visual Art
Some artists in attendance have Caribbean backgrounds while other works are inspired and influenced by the Caribbean culture. Admire traditional fine art, contemporary pieces, jewelry, sculpture, paintings and much more.
Attend the official book signing of “Rastafari in the New Millenium,” an academia book with a focus on the Rastafarianism evolution. “Pieces of Jamaica” is another book that will be featured at Caribe Arts Fest.
If you’re a fan of indie films, you won’t want to miss this. “Taboo Yardie,” “Brianna,” “Disturbed,” and “The Heart of Summer” are among the films that will be featured during Caribe Arts Fest.
Sounds of jazz, reggae and fusion will be heard throughout the area during Caribe Arts Fest. Performers include Sons of Mystro, Jay Will and the Wraps, Alana DaCosta, Omilani and many, many more.
Check out the latest in the fashions of the Caribbean. Local designers, makeup artists and models will bring you on a journey of trends, wearable art and more during the fashion show.
