Florida News: St. Augustine Historic Inns holiday tour is December 8 & 9
The 19th annual Holiday Tour of St. Augustine’s historic bed & breakfasts will happenDecember 8 & 9 when twenty four properties open their well-decorated doors to the public.
This highly anticipated yearly event was named, by the Southeast Tourism Society, as one of the Top 20 events in the area. According to chairman of the 2012 tour committee and owner of the Bayfront Marin House, Mike Wieber, “People love to see the inns decorated, and they like the opportunity to sample holiday treats from the top restaurants in town. Many people – both visitors and locals – make this event an annual outing.”
Celebrating The Twelve Days of Christmas
In a fun holiday twist, the tour this year will celebrate gifts given in The Twelve Days of Christmas carol. Each property will have a verse to portray. The inn showcasing the Nine Ladies Dancing will use a troupe of belly-dancers while the Six Geese A-Laying inn will use sculpture to portray their verse.
You’re able to walk from location to location on the self-guided tour or if you prefer, you may use the tour shuttle which will be providing transportation along the route on Saturday and Sunday.
