Southwest goes Key West with new nonstop flights
Florida News: Nonstop Key West flights now offered by Southwest Airlines
As far as most travelers are concerned, it’s always better to book a nonstop flight than a flight with one or more stops. It was recently announced that there are now a couple of new nonstop flights available for those wishing to escape to Key West from Orlando, Tampa and in the spring, New Orleans.
Dallas-based Southwest Airlines plans to eventually discontinue its subsidiary AirTran Airways brand, but that could take years. In one effort to phase out the brand, on Sunday Sunwest began taking over AirTran’s nonstop flights to and from the island city’s Key West International Airport. With this move, Key West Florida became the 78th city that is serviced by Southwest.
