Having fun in Florida doesn’t have to mean spending a fortune! There are many great things to do in the Sunshine State that won’t cost you a cent!

1. 2012 Gingerbread House Extravaganza

The Jacksonville Historical Society will have dozens of gingerbread houses and other delicious creations on display during the Gingerbread House Extravaganza! This much-loved holiday event helps to fund children’s programs in the area. While the event is free it is suggested that a $5 donation be given by each adult visitor and $3 per child.

2. Suntrust Sunday Jazz Brunch, Fort Lauderdale

The Suntrust Sunday Jazz Brunch is happening in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, December 2. Enjoy the music played by the best local jazz artists in the area. All are welcome, including well-behaved, leashed pets. Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket or some chairs and enjoy the afternoon!

3. Sanibel & Captiva Luminary Festival

The charming islands of Sanibel & Captiva are getting all decked out for the holidays. Visit the islands on December 7 & 8 for the Luminary Festival when the streets glow with luminaries, decorated trees and other festive touches. Santa will visit on a fire truck making stops at local businesses, galleries and shops. Enjoy refreshments, music and more.
