Florida News: Partnership further recognizes sustainable and eco-friendly Accommodations

A new partnership has former that recognizes green lodging from three-room bed and breakfasts to properties with 5,000-rooms or more. Both the Florida DEP and Audubon International have a Green Lodging Program and they will now complement each other. On top of the DEP’s focus on environmental best practice standards that includes water quality and conservation, recycling, waste minimization, and energy efficiency, Audubon International does a comprehensive site visit, offers personalized staff support and best management practices. “Through this partnership with Audubon International, the Florida Green Lodging Program will be able to better recognize members of Florida’s lodging sector for their proven dedication in protecting Florida’s environment and natural resources,” said Sustainable Initiatives Director Brad Stombock.
