Alice Cooper Debuts at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights
Florida News: Legendary Rocker Alice Cooper takes haunted to a disturbing level at Halloween Horror Nights
It’s the first time that Alice Cooper joins the ranks at Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando. The Multi-platinum star puts his personal stamp on a demented subconscious in his haunted maze, where you step inside the dreams of Steven at Alice Cooper – Welcome to My Nightmare. Given that Cooper is one of the founding fathers of the theatre rock genre, his version of “disturbing” is unique.
Alice Cooper’s haunted maze
Cooper’s inspiration for the haunted attraction comes from his first solo album and the recurring character, “Steven”. Want to prepare yourself for “Alice Cooper – Welcome to My Nightmare”? Close your eyes and listen to some of his music and imagine yourself running through a haunted house. In particular, listen to “Welcome 2 My Nightmare”, released last fall, and the 1975 classic “Welcome to My Nightmare”, which the fall release was a sequel to.
Cooper’s six decade-long recording career has a long list of accolades, from two dozen albums to appearances in movies and videos, such as “Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy’s Dead,” “Prince of Darkness” and “Dark Shadows.” When speaking about his attraction at Halloween Horror Nights, Cooper said, “Last year, Universal Studios Hollywood scared the wits out of me with their maniacal and demented creation and they’ve promised to up the ante with ‘Alice Cooper Goes To Hell 3D.’ I can’t wait to see the final terrifying masterpiece. It will be hell! I’m even more excited to see Universal Orlando Resort’s maze, ‘Alice Cooper – Welcome To My Nightmare.’ Let’s see if they can scare me!”
