Disney Vacation Guide: Best Theme Park in the World!

If you’re planning a vacation for the coming year and you’re looking to visit a fantastic theme park (perhaps one of the best on the planet) then you should most definitely have your sites set on Disney World in Florida.

According to the Globe Travel Awards 2012, Walt Disney World is the best theme park in the world. This, of course, comes to no surprise to those of us who have experienced the magic of Disney World!

Other nominees in the category for best theme park (worldwide) were:

  • Disneyland Resort Paris
  • Busch Gardens
  • Universal Orlando Resort
  • PortAventura
  • SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment

Travel Weekly is the trade publication behind the Globe Travel Awards and award winners are chosen based entirely on votes from travel agents. This is to ensure that the integrity of these prestigious awards remains intact.

The 2012 awards ceremony took place at the Grosvenor House hotel in London. Other top prizes went to Tourism Australia, which was named the world’s best tourist board.

Emirates won for best long-haul airline, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International won for best premium and leading mainstream cruise lines (respectively). Silversea was named best luxury operator in the world.

There was an opportunity for consumers to vote for their favorites in the Globe Travel Awards 2012. That part of the program saw Hilton chosen for top hotel chain, British Airways for favorite airline and P&O Cruise for best cruise company.
