Take a splash with Nemo and Dory aboard Disney’s Fantasy
Disney Vacation Guide to Nemo’s Reef water fun on the Fantasy
Little dudes and dudettes will love playing in the fanciful water area at Nemo’s Reef. “Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!” Sound familiar? If Finding Nemo is a big hit in your house, you can not miss this water fun aboard the Fantasy.
Nemo is swimming in a sea anemone and children can join in! Little ones can play with clownfish named Marlin, his son Nemo and their funny friend Dory in this water-play area inspired by the Disney-Pixar film, Finding Nemo. From water bubblers to pop jets, the 1,500-square-foot play area lets children cool off with the colorful figures. Each character is interactive, such as zipping down the water slide shaped like Mr. Ray or being spurted with water from Dory’s mouth. The entire area is even shaded for sun protection and has soft surface if a child does slip on the wet surface.
The Water Coaster
If your child is 42 inches or taller (the minimum height requirement for AquaDuck), take them on the Fantasy’s water coaster. From afar, the clear tubes of the AquaDuck rise above the upper decks of the cruise ship, like a translucent sea monster. The 765-foot long tubes, some transparent, coil and bend as they funnel you toward a wet exit! If you think it might be too scary, take your child for a virtual ride in this AquaDuck video:
If you don’t want to take the big plunge, there are other ways to get wet on the Fantasy, especially for families. The big debut for the Fantasy sailing excursion is the fanciful and imaginative water play area, AquaLab. Located on the upper deck, the 1,800-square-foot space is full of of water “experiments” that will drench you. Squirting walls and falling water will have you dripping wet while pop jets, bubblers and geysers, will give you hours of wet fun. There’s also a gentle splish-splash area for small children and separate pools for families and adults.
