Disney Vacation Guide to Star Tours

If you remember when the first three Star Wars movies were in theaters…the first time around…you will love the Star Tours attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And if you’re a more recent fan you’ll appreciate it just as much. Of course, you don’t necessarily have to be a fan of the films to enjoy the ride.

Even waiting in line for this full-motion Star Wars-based flight simulator attraction is exciting! That’s because the outdoor line-up twists around a pretty authentic-looking Ewok village.

Once you get inside, familiar characters from the films including crowd favorites R2D2 and C3PO can be seen working away at the intergalactic travel agency, “Star Tours.” Before you know it you’re being blasted through space, exploring a galaxy far, far away from your very own seat aboard the Starspeeder 3000. Things get more interesting as you realize the vessel’s being captained by a droid on his first solo flight.

You’ll see asteroids and Star Destroyers and even the dreaded Death Star on your very bumpy ride to Endor from Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Tip:

To beat line ups, ride first thing in the morning or during the afternoon parade.

Ready to eat?

If you work up an appetite, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano (a casual, family-friendly restaurant) is smack dab in the middle of Hollywood Studios‘ backlot.

Enjoy a traditional Italian meal from oak-grilled steaks and succulent seafood dishes to brick-oven-fired flatbread pizzas and chicken alla parmigiana. Buon appetite!
