Disney Vacation Guide: The Avenger Monorail
Nick Fury is the director of international peace keeping agency, S.H.I.E.L.D (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division). This agency is a veritable who’s who of familiar superheroes from Marvel comics including; Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.
When Loki and his army threaten global security, it’s up to Nick and his team to use all of their collective powers to basically save the world from disaster.
“The Avengers” is a superhero film that’s been produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. (The Walt Disney Company, of course, acquired Marvel Entertainment Inc. for $4.3 billion in 2009.)
“The Avengers” take over the Monorail
Since back on March 31, one of the monorails in the Magic Kingdom has been sporting a Marvel-ous new look! The last time a Disney monorail was wrapped before “The Avengers” was for promotion of “Tron: Legacy.”
What characters are featured on the “Avengerail”?
Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). Other stars in the film are Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Stellan Skarsgård (Professor Erik Selvig) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury). This Avengers-themed monorail in the Magic Kingdom is scheduled to run throughout the summer.
Don’t worry about Marvel characters to disappear from Universal Studios. Disney and Universal Orlando have a licensing agreement in place that allows Universal to continue featuring Marvel characters in its Islands of Adventure theme park.
