Life’s a beach at Disney’s nautically-themed Yacht Club Resort
Disney Vacation Guide to the Yacht Club Resort
One of our favorite Disney Deluxe properties is the Yacht Club Resort. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort with its lush landscaping, grace and charm, was designed by an architect most well-known for his East Coast beach houses, Robert A.M. Stern. He designed this 5-story resort made up of shingled buildings that look like something you’d expect to see in Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard. The rooms are nautically-themed and quite classy, furnished with wicker and dark wood. Cast members in this resort even dress the part complete with captains hats and navy blazers.
You’ll have no trouble finding things to do at the Yacht Club Resort. If you like playing in water but not enough to venture to Blizzard Beach for the day, look no further than behind this resort where water slides come out of a life-sized replica of a ship wreck! There’s also a sand bottom pool, a slow river perfect for inner tube floating and there’s even a lagoon or two back there. If that’s not enough, there’s the 25-acre Crescent Lake to enjoy via rented pedal boats or perhaps a pontoon. Or maybe you’d like to take a private cruise on the Lake to view the nightly fireworks display. Work on your physique at the Ship Shape Health Club, get a massage or find a piece of beach, slap on some sunscreen and do some sunbathing. The BoardWalk Areais close by if you get bored (you won’t) or you can take the tram or walk to Epcot from here. Hollywood Studios is accessible by water taxi!
