Disney Vacation Guide to Celebrity Sightings: First Lady Visits ESPN Wide World of Sports
Less than a month after President Obama was in Disney World to announce a new initiative to improve tourism in the United States, his First Lady is in Central Florida for business of her own.
Michelle Obama’s stop in Orlando marks the end of a three-day tour where she also spoke to groups in Texas, Arkansas and Iowa.
This morning Obama spoke at Northland Church in Longwood to encourage roughly 3000 indiviuals belonging to religious groups to continue embracing their newly adopted healthy lifestyles. This afternoon she’ll be working out at ESPN Wide World of Sports at the Disney World Resort with hundreds of families to promote her Let’s Move! initiative which encourages exercise and healthy eating. There will be some sports personalities and Disney celebrities in attendance as well.
For two years Obama has been concentrating on helping Americans improve their eating habits and to start moving more. Let’s Move! is a project aimed especially towards addressing the epidemic of childhood obesity in the United States.
The Walt Disney Company has been a collaborator on the Let’s Move initiative since it started up in 2009. This partnership helps solidify Disney’s commitment to providing visitors to its theme parks with healthful eating options limiting fat, sugars and calories in children’s meals at all Disney-operated restaurants.
Have you embraced a healthy lifestyle recently? Was it harder or easier than you expected it to be?
