Disney Vacation Guide to Christmas at Epcot

Do you know which Walt Disney World park is the best one to visit when things are crowded? If you answered Epcot, you’d be right! This part of Disney handles crowds a little better than others, so during the holidays when there are more people in the park than at any other time of year, Epcot is a perfect place to spend some time. If you plan on doing some holiday shopping while you’re at Disney World, Epcot allows you to shop at eleven different countries, in miniature scope, of course.

Explore the holiday customs of other cultures

Epcot is about experiencing other cultures and its Holidays Around the World celebrates them all with festive decorations and holiday music from many different nations. Each country has its own theme to highlight its unique customs. Learn about the holiday traditions of others from storytellers throughout the park: The Three Kings, Father Christmas, Papa Noel, La Befana, Julenissen and other seasonal characters from around the world.

IllumiNations is even more enchanting

A spherical video display and the World Showcase Lagoon fountains are part of a 3-act show that tells the story of our planet. Considered by many to be the best light display in Disney with a compelling musical score, a fireworks and laser show, IllumiNations is enhanced for the holidays with a special ending making it even more special than it already is.

Tip:

Line up early for a good spot because this is a popular attraction. There’s excellent viewing around the edge of the lagoon.

Remember the true meaning of the holidays

The Candlelight Processional should not be missed if you’re in Disney World for Christmas. A celebrity narrator, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and mass choir, retells the story of Christmas. This event is held every night as part of Holidays Around the World in the American Gardens Theatre in Epcot.

Tip:

The only way to get a seat for this show is by purchasing a Candlelight Processional dining package which gets you a fantastic meal at a restaurant in Epcot, a guaranteed seat for the show, and special viewing for IllumiNations.
