Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Disney Vacation Guide: Up Close and Personal
Stroll through the world’s biggest animal-themed park in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. More than 350 animals etched into the gnarled roots and trunk of the iconic 145-foot-tall Tree of Life, sets the stage for what you’ll experience the moment you step inside the park’s 500 acres. From giraffes, elephants and baboons to crocodiles, hippos and tigers, there are more than 1,700 animals that roam the sprawling landscape. From Safaris such as Wild Africa Trek or Kilimanjaro Safaris to walks on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail or Discovery Island Trails, there are experiences for all ages to come up close to wildlife.
As you stroll among flora and fauna, no Disney encounter is complete without Broadway-style musical shows like “Festival of the Lion King“, wet rides like Kali River Rapids and attractions like Primeval Whirl. As you stroll through the park, look out for Timon, Baloo, Minnie Mouse or other favourite Disney characters. Share breakfast with Donald Duck and his friends or eat in a rainforest restaurant where the sky shakes with rainstorms. From Dinoland to Camp Minnie-Mickey, each step is a wildlife adventure.
Conservation
Aside from attractions and entertainment, Animal Kingdom has a keen dedication for nature preservation and conservation and takes education and research seriously. Enter the worlds of the animals with special tours and behind-the-scenes look with Conservation Station. At Affection Section you can get close enough to pet some animals! In this theme park, focused solely on animals, the first-hand experiences instill a wonder of nature.
