Disney Vacation Guide: Art of Animation Resort “Cars” wing now open

The timing is absolutely perfect for summer vacation season for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to launch phase two of the brand new family suites resort. This new Walt Disney World Resort value property offers fun family travel for those looking to save on accommodation costs without scrimping on fun. Last month, the resort opened with its “Finding Nemo” themed wing and yesterday, the “Cars” wing opened with Lightning McQueen, Mater, Flo and other characters from the popular Pixar film “Cars” featured throughout the decor.

Radiator Springs

The “Cars” wing of the Art of Animation Resort features 480 family suites. Sheriff and Doc Hudson welcome you into town after a freshly paved road leads you to the entryway of Radiator Springs. Images of Luigi’s Casa Della Tires, Tow Mater Towing and the Wheel Well Motel prepare you for you to be immersed in the magic of “Cars.”

Cozy Cone Motel

Festive orange cone-shaped cabanas invite you to take a swim in the Cozy Cone Pool at the retro Cozy Cone Motel. Inside the Motel, orange cones are featured in the light fixtures, carpeting and in the artwork. Walking into your room puts you in a scene from the film with its tool chest dresser, car wash bathroom and hot rod sofa bed.

Art of Animation Resort Dining

There are no table service restaurants at the resort but the Landscape of Flavors Food Court has five mini shops serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. You’re given the option to customize your options from pasta and burgers to gelatos and parfaits and everything is prepared fresh to order.
