Disney Vacation Guide: Terror awaits!

If you plan to make a trip to Hollywood Studios on your Florida vacation in search of scary roller coasters then you’re in luck. There are a couple of doozies just waiting to scare the wits out of you!

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

If you’re into chills and thrills, don’t miss a tour of the decrepit old Hollywood Tower Hotel in the Hollywood Studios theme park. Just stand outside the tower to get an idea of what’s going on behind the dusty old walls; you’ll hear the screams of the passengers as they’re dropped, dangled, lurched upwards and dropped again at random by the old tower. If you’re brave enough, step inside and “fear every drop” of the creepy “fright” elevator including one that plunges 13 stories into the darkness.

Tip for Twilight Zone Tower of Terror:

Do not ride if you are pregnant, afraid of the dark or claustrophobic. Those afraid of heights may also be uncomfortable.

  • Duration: 4.5 minutes
  • Minimum Height: 40 inches, 101 cm
  • Recommended Age Group: 9+

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

Try “livin’ on the edge” on this wild ride to an Aerosmith concert on a 24-passenger stretch limo, equipped with 125 speakers. This thrilling in-door roller coaster zips along to very loud music recorded by Aerosmith specifically for this attraction. Lit-up California landmarks pierce the darkness and rock music pounds while you slice, swoop and loop along 3400 feet of track through LA traffic.

Tip for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster:

This ride is very loud, dark and fast with intense twists and turns. Pregnant women and those with medical conditions are advised not to ride.

  • Duration: 3.5 minutes
  •  Minimum Height: 48 inches, 122 cm
  •  Recommended Age Group: 9+
