Disney Vacation Guide to Castaway Cay Family Fun with the Fantasy

The Fantasy is set to sail at the end of this month, and no matter what itinerary you choose, Castaway Cay is always on the list! From parasailing to snorkeling and fishing to bicycling, there’s tons of family fun on the island. Watch our video below to get a feel for all the island has to offer, then check out our best of list below:

The Video

Swim with Stingrays

Get up close and personal with southern Stingrays in the calm waters of Disney’s private lagoon. During the one-hour adventure at Castaway Ray’s, you can swim and interact with the stingrays – note that participants must be at least five years of age.

Get Soaked

Take the plunge and swim a short distance from shore to slide, dodge water and get soaked on the floating platform. The Pelican Plunge is 2,400-square-feet of water. Spring-a-Leak comes in a close second as the on-island equivalent with water jets the spray, soak and squirt in a 2,400-square-foot area!

Glide over the Water

Learn about the ecological features of the Bahamas as you explore the island’s coastal and mangrove regions by kayak with a guide on the Castaway Cay Kayak Nature Adventure. You can also choose a water cycle, paddleboat or sailboat and go exploring on your own, or even drive your own personal watercraft on the Watercraft Ski Adventure.

Snorkel for Mickey

There’s a snorkel trail in a 12-acre area that has tons of sunken caches and hidden gems. Take your kids out and see how many Disney classics and characters they can spot! From a submarine (think 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea) to a statue of Mickey, the treasures are sure to look familiar.

Relax on the Beach

Sway in a hammock or read in the shade of an umbrella, float in a tube or shape a sand castle on the shore. There are also cabanas to rent for more privacy and a great view of the Fantasy if you want to keep it in focus. If you’re looking for more activity, ‘In Da Shade’ is full of games from table tennis to basketball.
