Disney News: 2012 Thanksgiving ThingsTo Do

If anyone knows how to really celebrate a holiday, it’s Disney. On November 22 there will be lots of thanks being given around the parks of Disney World. If you’re heading to the Happiest Place on Earth for Thanksgiving you’ll have no shortage of things to do to celebrate the holiday.

Disney’s parks will be crowded on Thanksgiving so we recommend that you make use of Fastpasses, the rider switch program and single rider lines to get the most out of your adventure.

American Adventure

What better time to visit the American Adventure show in Epcot’s World Showcase than Thanksgiving? Travel with your family on a 45-minute journey through the history of America that starts with a charming pilgrim vignette, reminding you of the humble beginnings of the United States.

Disney’s Thanksgiving Parade

There are always parades happening in Disney World but on Thanksgiving, besides the Main Street Electrical Parade, there’s also Disney’s Thanksgiving parade. See your favorite characters dressed in their finest Pilgrim garb.

Turkey Dinner

Not all of the restaurants around the parks of Disney will be serving up a traditional turkey dinner, but the following are (make sure to call for reservations!):

Many of the restaurants at Disney’s Resorts will also be serving up traditional Thanksgiving meals so if there’s one you’re particularly interested in call and find out then make a reservation. (Have we mentioned how busy Thanksgiving can be at Disney World?!)

If you’d rather spend your time at Disney riding rides than scoffing down a huge dinner and waiting for the turkey coma to hit, head to the Lunching Pad in the Magic Kingdom. Grab a smoked turkey leg and continue on your adventure around the parks!
