Disney News: FSU announces it will host the inaugural USTA Invitational this fall

If tennis is on your list of sports to watch, you’ll want to make note of an upcoming event to see top players and coaches at Disney this fall. The inaugural USTA Clay Court Invitational will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Tennis Complex from  November 2-4, 2012. Hosted by Florida State men’s tennis team, the tournament will feature some of the best US Juniors  and collegiate players playing in singles and doubles matches. “We have a rich history of hosting tennis events that feature some of the fastest-rising stars in the game, such as Monica Seles and Jim Courier,” said Kevin Weickel, Manager of Sports Development for Disney Sports. “When you combine that tradition with the expertise of Florida State University and the USTA and a field loaded with tennis powerhouses, this event could quickly become one of the most prestigious in collegiate tennis.”

Florida State finished No. 32 in 2011. The tournament will feature:

  • No. 1 USC
