Disney News: Guests step into the world of animated movies at Disney’s Art of Animation

The Art of Animation Resort now debuts with all four wings, from Nemo’s wide oceans to Simba’s Pride Lands of Africa, and Ariel’s underwater grotto to high revving adventure in Radiator Springs. Learn more about the concept of the resort and watch each of our videos to see how the animation comes together from the grounds to the actual rooms.

The Art of Animation

When you step inside the resort, it’s not only the animated movies themselves, but the actual animation process that comes to life. From pencil drawings, pixilated patterns and close-ups on the exterior to the rooms, you’ll recognize moments in each of the movies.

The Animation Hall

Within the lobby itself, you can see the development of character creation early artist sketches to finished images of Ariel, Lightning McQueen, Nemo and Simba. There’s even a whimsical chandelier made from 77 animation storyboards and giant sketchbooks filled with favorite characters seem to come to life as they pave the way to each storyline revealed throughout the lobby.

The Little Mermaid Wing Video

Walk through the Little Mermaid wing in this video and see the human treasures from the undersea grotto that belongs to Ariel.
