Disney News: Frankenweenie Weekend rolls out September 28th to 30th, 2012

To wet your appetite for the animated movie “Frankenweenie,” Disney has a number of fun activities happening to celebrate the opening of its new 3D movie on October 5, 2012. Directed by Tim Burton the movie tells a heartwarming tale of a boy and his dog buddy. The activities take place in Downtown Disney West Side from September 28 – 30 – here’s what to look for:

3D screenings

There will be a number of 3D screenings of two of Burton’s animated movies “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” along with extended 3D previews of “Frankenweenie” at AMC Downtown Disney 24. The screenings will be held at the following times:

  • The Nightmare Before Christmas: 4:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
  • Alice in Wonderland: 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Cost: $6/ticket

Photo Opportunity

Between 6 to 11 p.m., look for Frankenweenie among pet gravestones in the picture spot at the New Holland Pet Cemetery located between the AMC 24 and Something Silver boutique.

Meet and greet

It’s the first time ever that you can meet Jack and Sally from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.  You’ll find them from 6 to 11 p.m., between the AMC 24 and Harley Davidson.

D-Street boutique

You can get all kinds of goods inspired by the movies  “Frankenweenie” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” at mobile carts, the D-Street boutique and a stand near the New Holland Pet Cemetery – try the Franken Fusion Lemonade or Frankenweenie hotdogs.
