The SportsTravel awards program
SportsTravel awards consider sporting events that are amateur, collegiate or professional and its readers nominate and then vote on each category. Some of the criteria that determine whether the sporting event is a “superior experience for competitors and spectators” are:
- Superior organization
- Outstanding event attendance
- Enhancements offered by the host city or venue
Back in 2006, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex has also won a SportsTravel award for the 2005 AAU 16U Girls Basketball National Championship in the category for “Best Single Sport Event” Amateur Division.
