Disney News: Labor Day Events for Orlando Theme Parks

If you’re braving theme park crowds for Labor Day weekend, make sure you catch events and deals that are on this long weekend:

Walt Disney World, Downtown Disney

Disney has two events during the Labor Day Weekend. Once is the Great Irish Hooley, an Irish celebration that runs from August 31st to September 3rd, 2012, with live music, celtic face painting and Irish Dance Workshops. You can catch the entertainment at Pleasure Island’s Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant. Starting on September 1st, head to the Bongos Cuban Café for Phineas and Ferb & YOU: A Brand New RealityYou’ll get a commemorative photo to mark the virtual experience.

Universal Studios

Chill at CityWalk as DJ M-Squared and DJ ET spin live during Universal’s Labor Day party on September 2nd from 9 p.m. till 2 a.m. You can groove to live music and try the Grey Goose, Corona and Red Bull drink specials, or relax in a private cabana with VIP bottle service. You have to be 21 years old to join in the party, and need to shell out $10 for a ticket.


Sea World’s Twilight ticket promotion ends after Labor Day so if you’re going to head out in the afternoon, you can make use of the after 3 p.m. discounted price.  This is also one of your last weekends to catch the Makahiki Luau before it closes at the end of September.  You’ll get an island experience from Pacific Isle cuisine and costumes to Polynesian music to fire dancers and can bid farewell to the traditional show as summer winds to a close.
