Disney News: The Haunted Mansion is still a Halloween favorite

Halloween is a happy celebration at Disney where anything scary has a happy tone to it – if anyone can pull it off, it’s Disney! Although there are a number of great Halloween events in the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, we’re including the Haunted Mansion here as it’s a year-round classic.

Most screams and squeals in the Magic Kingdom are from meeting characters or riding Space Mountain but the Haunted Mansion isn’t for the faint-hearted. Walk into the old, dark mansion, see apparitions on the wall and then step into your “Doom Buggy” for a slow-moving ride through the mansion’s rooms as ghouls float in the hallways and can even slip into your buggy and momentarily ride beside you.

  • Highlight: Ride a Doom Buggy
  • When: Available anytime the park is open!
  • Where:  Magic Kingdom, Disney World

Disney Villains Hollywood Bash

Party with runners and get your after-hours thrills on Disney’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Star Tours. Along with character meet and greets, other rides that are open are Muppet*Vision 3D, Toy Story Mania! and The Great Movie Ride.

  • When: Saturday, September 29, 10:30 p.m. – September 30, 2012, 4:00 a.m..
  • Where: Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Cost: $44/person before August 31st; $54/person after September 1st
